I picked up this PHILTOP front drive shaft for the 4L80E swap I'm doing on my 2005 Silverado 1500. Since changing transmissions affects the drivetrain setup, finding the right shaft for the swap was an important part of getting everything together. My initial impression of this shaft is excellent. It feels substantial and well made, the welds look clean, and the overall finish is better than I expected. The mounting areas and splines look nicely machined, and I didn't see any obvious quality issues when I inspected it. I also like being able to buy a complete shaft rather than trying to piece together or modify an old one. Even though the listed applications are primarily GM 2500 and 3500 trucks, the dimensions and configuration are what I needed for my particular 4L80E swap. I haven't put enough miles on the completed setup to comment on long term durability, but everything about the shaft looks promising so far. For anyone doing a similar drivetrain swap, definitely verify your own measurements and configuration rather than ordering strictly by vehicle application. For my 2005 Silverado 1500 4L80E project, this was exactly what I was looking for.

Installation was a breeze. It lined up perfectly and everything felt secure. Compared to other shafts I've installed, this one was definitely on the easier side.
