Perfect fit on the engine side, on the muffler side you may need an adapter if your's is like mine where both pieces are flared out. Other than that it was and is a perfect fit. I fully stand behind this company and recommend purchasing from them.

I picked up this PHILTOP 2-inch universal catalytic converter for my 2001 VW Cabrio build. I’m working on making a custom exhaust setup and I wanted to include catalytic converters so I can keep the car reasonable and avoid emissions issues during inspection here in NJ. I also do not need the car to be obnoxiously loud. Let’s be realistic, a VW Cabrio, or at least the one I’m building, does not need to be that loud to go that slow.The converter itself looks good in person. The stainless body feels solid, the welds look clean, and the heat shield is a nice feature. Looking through the inlet, the honeycomb inside looked clean and properly seated, which gave me more confidence in the part. It does not feel like a cheap empty shell or a flimsy exhaust piece.This is definitely a universal catalytic converter, not a direct bolt-on part. For my use, that is fine because I am already planning a custom exhaust. You should expect cutting, fitting, welding, adapters, or exhaust shop work depending on what you are installing it on. The 2-inch inlet and outlet size makes it useful for smaller custom exhaust setups and older vehicle repairs.I also like that it has an O2 sensor bung with a plug, which gives some flexibility depending on how you need to build the system. That is helpful when you are laying out a custom exhaust and figuring out sensor placement.Overall, this seems like a solid value for a custom exhaust or repair project.
