First, I would like to say I bought this thing on the cheap so I could pass emissions. That's it. I know it won't last forever, the reviews say it won't last longer than a year or two, but it worked. For that, it gets all five stars because it did exactly what I wanted it to do.Now for the cons, and they aren't much. The bolts that came with the unit are just a hair too short, and the springs have this funny taper. This means they were an absolute pain to work with, and I eventually just used the old springs. The short bolt length meant I needed someone to squeeze the ends to the muffler side while I kept trying to get some thread to grab on to. It came with the little gaskets and my buddy said they were a little thicker, which could explain the problem, but I didn't confirm it and it was already bolted in.The picture looks like it is the exact item, but once out of the box there were no places to hook the old heat shields back on. This wasn't a huge deal as I found a way to secure them where I wanted them to be using some clamp straps.I detected no extra noise or reduction in engine power, but this thing was SMELLY. I know new cats are smelly but this one REEKED for almost a week, and I was definitely driving a bunch to clear the codes. Again, if you are buying a cheap cat at 1/6th of the price you get what you expect.Pros: After the second day one of the two threshold tests nudged just above minimum passing, and the pending P0420 code went away by day 4. I cleared it all on day 5 and drove around another week to get some cycles in, all tests passed. Went to DEQ (Oregon Metro standards) and walked out with some stickers.
