This filter comes new and is an exact fit. Although, one should be careful. It is for Honda Civics with 1.3 L engines and many Honda Civics have 1.8 L engines. The description is very thorough about which cars this will fit. The filter appears to be well made with standard filter materials. This is definitely a bargain compared to paying $50 for a new filter at the quick oil change place. I am waiting for my next oil change and I will hand them the filter when they ask me if I want my engine filter changed.

FAQS

A dirty filter lets dirt and debris enter the engine. This can reduce power, hurt fuel economy, and over time cause engine wear — leading to expensive repairs.

Yes. Carefully remove loose dust and debris before installing the new filter, making sure nothing falls into the intake.

A wet or damaged filter may restrict airflow. Inspect the filter and replace it if it cannot dry completely or maintain its original shape.
