The dimension of this replacement filter looks and feels identical to that of the original (see photos, the orange one is a dirty original, the pink one is the new replacement). It is noticeably lighter than the original, purely because it uses a lighter gauge mesh. As the mesh is on the engine intake side of the filter, and the periphery of the filter is tightly clamped down by the housing lid, preventing any distortion from occurring, I believe the lighter mesh on the replacement will do just fine. The filter element looks very similar to that of the original, with roughly the same number of folds. Unless there are microscopic differences that are not visible to the naked eye, it should last many tens of thousands of miles, just like the original, since it is used only when the gas engine turns on.
